Folks,
The day is almost here... when you can open up that can of whoopass and share it amongst your fellow LAN-ners! This coming Nov. 19th and 20th will be this Shutdown's true reason for fun - a LAN PARTY event to help pick up your spirits.
Save up your vacations and *cough cough* times for this coming Nov. 19th and 20th. LAN party will take place at my humble abode in [someplace in California]. Doors open officially at noon, although you are more than welcome to come in early for setups and some chest-thumping. You may also crash in the other rooms, on the couches, or on the floor if you want to sleep overnight next to your computer-love.
I will be sending out directions to my place at the end of the week. For now, I am asking those who will be attending to please RSVP me. I would like to get a closer-than-rough headcount estimate so I can prepare for seating and food arrangements. Please RSVP me as soon as you can. Enumerate your close buddies if they will be tagging along... just remember the following prerequisites:
1. Have a WORKABLE computer. This means not just any other Compaq or Dell, but a decent gaming machine. If you do not have a 3d card, then get one. If you can barely run Battlefield 2, then upgrade.
2. You must BRING a 20ft. network cable, Cat. 5 or better. ADSL will be available for patches and the likes.
3. Bring your own monitor.
4. Headphones, please.
I strongly highlight the first prerequisite, 'cuz it ain't gonna be a LAN party if you can't even decently play.
As for the games, so far we have Call of Duty, Warcraft 3: Frozen Throne, and Battlefield 2. If you are interested in playing other games this coming Nov. 19th and 20th, then sound off on your RSVP.
