my eyelids, so heavy
Nov. 22nd, 2005 10:40 amyesterday, i had my first day of jury duty AND it was muy importante that i finish some memos for my partner. but, i became obsessed with finishing harry potter 5, the book. so i just kept reading. and reading. i finally finished it at 11:30 at night. i worked until about 1:40 and then went to bed. got up at 6 to finish my memos. i triumphed. ohhhh, at approximately 8:40.
did i forget to mention i had to be back at jury duty at 10 this morning? well, i got ready so fast, i impressed myself. 20 minutes! and that included shower, brushing teeth, contacts, toner, facial moisturizer, body lotion, brushing hair, AND blowdrying hair. i even had time to pack up my laptop and some more work to do while i'm at jury duty again today. i even got to the jury room EARLY to snag myself the currently very comfortable cubby (w/ethernet jack) that i'm using right now. hah! i tempt fate, but i always win.
ok, ok, i don't always win. but i try to. now it's 10:44am. and my eyelids are droopy. my eyeballs are actually burning a little bit. luckily, i don't think i have to resort to work if i don't want to. i did bring two netflix's with me today, so that should help. and on top of it, i have headphones! (of course, i left my unlimited metrocard at home and had to buy a new one - bastards.) after jury duty today, i will hopefully be told that i don't have to come back tomorrow. we'll see. i know i need to visit my office before i leave for the break, because there are packages being delivered there that need to be taken to cali. sigh.
but here's the thing. let's say i survive the rest of today. tomorrow, after either being in jury duty or going to the office, i have a date, then i have to pack, and you'll never guess when my shuttle is going to pick me up for my flight. here's a hint. my flight leaves at 6am, thanksgiving day. did you guess? alright, will everyone who guessed 3am please step forward to collect your prize. 3AM?!?! i might as well just not go to sleep tomorrow night. god knows i certainly have enough DVRed to keep me company. i certainly hope i can sleep on the plane. somewhere between now and tomorrow night, i need to buy myself a mogu.
